Stephen Chow's highly anticipated film, "Kung Fu Soccer," is slated for release in cinemas across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Ireland on October 23. This action-comedy, distributed by Singapore-based Encore Films, will be available in its original language, alongside a newly produced English-dubbed version. Notably, Chow himself, along with Jimmy O. Yang and MC Jin, lend their voices to their respective characters in the English dub. An additional Cantonese-language dub has also been completed, with details on its voice cast yet to be disclosed.

The Western premiere follows a successful theatrical run in Asia and Oceania, where "Kung Fu Soccer" captivated audiences. The film launched in mainland China on July 11, becoming the summer's highest-grossing title with an impressive $349 million. Its Asian expansion continued in August, starting in Singapore and Cambodia on August 6, before moving to Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macao, Malaysia, Brunei, and Thailand. The movie features a talented ensemble cast including Zhang Xiaofei, Dilraba Dilmurat, and Lay Zhang Yixing, alongside Carina Lau, Satoh Takeru, Sisley Choi, Angel Woo, Xue Ye, Louis Cheung, Yang, and MC Jin. The narrative centers on the Emei Women's Football Team, underestimated underdogs who aim for the Supreme Invincible Cup, integrating martial arts skills with their football prowess under the guidance of captain Shuangshuang, striker Yulong, and mentor Xu Feng.

This film marks Chow's return to the fusion of sports and martial arts, a genre he previously explored with global acclaim in 2001's "Shaolin Soccer" and 2004's "Kung Fu Hustle." This iteration shifts focus to a female football team, promising a fresh perspective on the action-comedy formula. Joyce Lee, managing director of Encore Films, expressed enthusiasm for bringing "Kung Fu Soccer" to new audiences, emphasizing Chow's ability to transcend cultural and linguistic barriers through his unique blend of action, comedy, and heartfelt storytelling. Encore Films, established in 2003, boasts a diverse portfolio of film releases and productions, highlighting its commitment to nurturing cinematic visions for future generations.

The global distribution of films like "Kung Fu Soccer" exemplifies the universal appeal of compelling narratives that blend cultural elements with exciting action. Stephen Chow's continued success in crafting stories that resonate across diverse audiences underscores the power of creativity and vision in cinema, fostering appreciation for martial arts, sportsmanship, and the journey of underdogs striving for greatness.
