Ripcord Inaugurates Halloween Film Festival to Spotlight Indie Genre Cinema

Ripcord, a newly established independent film platform, is set to host its debut Halloween Film Festival. This initiative seeks to bridge the chasm between innovative genre filmmakers and their potential audience, providing a direct avenue for connection and discovery. The festival will feature a curated selection of 50 short films spanning horror, science fiction, thriller, and fantasy, inviting audiences to engage directly by voting for their preferred entries.

The festival is scheduled to run from October 19th to October 29th, offering free online screenings via the ripcord.film website. The event will culminate with a special live screening at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on October 29th, where the winning film will be awarded a substantial $100,000 prize. Additionally, the subsequent nine highest-ranking films will collectively share a $100,000 prize pool, distributed based on their final standings. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their short films through the FilmFreeway platform.
