After extensive speculation, Epic Games has officially announced a highly anticipated crossover between the globally renowned anime series One Piece and the immensely popular battle royale game Fortnite. This collaboration will be the central theme of the upcoming "Treasure Hunters" mini-season, much to the delight of fans who have been eagerly awaiting confirmation. The announcement puts an end to weeks of rumors and uncertainty, marking a significant event for both franchises.
The journey to this confirmation was filled with anticipation. For several weeks, the gaming and anime communities buzzed with rumors suggesting that One Piece would take center stage in Fortnite's next seasonal update. Despite the widespread discussion, concrete details remained scarce, keeping enthusiasts on tenterhooks until the final reveal. Epic Games ultimately unveiled the exciting One Piece crossover season this past Sunday, ending the suspense and initiating a new wave of excitement. Subsequent teasers have begun to emerge, offering players their initial glimpses of the upcoming One Piece-themed character outfits slated for integration into the game.
The "Fortnite Treasure Hunters" mini-season is scheduled to commence on the first Sunday of November. As this launch date draws nearer, more specific information is gradually being released, providing players with a clearer understanding of what to expect from this year's annual mini-season event. Just last week, a sense of disappointment began to settle among players when subway posters in Madrid seemed to indicate that the Battle Pass might include generic anime-inspired skins, rather than specific collaborative cosmetic items featuring One Piece characters. Fortunately, these concerns were allayed when Epic Games definitively confirmed One Piece's inclusion in the Treasure Hunters season. This confirmation arrived in the form of a teaser showcasing the iconic Going Merry ship, a staple of the One Piece series, making an appearance on Fortnite's Battle Royale island.
It has now been revealed that the Straw Hat Pirates' vessel will soon take the place of the traditional Battle Bus, a significant visual change that further solidifies the theme. Prior to this, many fans were left pondering whether any specific crew members from the Straw Hat Pirates would be made available as playable skins in Fortnite. Those lingering questions have now been definitively answered. The existence of One Piece-themed wanted posters, strategically placed throughout London's Soho district, has unveiled four familiar personalities set to arrive in the next season. These include Monkey D. Luffy and Portgas D. Ace from One Piece, alongside Jonesy and Hope, who are original Fortnite characters reimagined in a distinct anime art style.
The preceding mini-season was entirely dedicated to The Simpsons franchise, notably featuring an exclusive Battle Pass. This pass incorporated four unique character skins: three beloved characters from The Simpsons—Homer, Ned, and Marge—and one Fortnite character, Peely, reimagined in the distinctive Simpson style. Based on this prior model, it is highly probable that the characters prominently displayed on the newly released posters will constitute the four primary skins available within this mini-season's Battle Pass. With only a few days remaining until the conclusion of Chapter 7 Season 4, it is widely anticipated that Epic Games will soon provide more detailed previews of these character skins across its various social media platforms.
