Mizuho has revised its price target for Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ: AMGN) upwards to $303 from $295, while maintaining a 'Neutral' rating. This adjustment reflects the firm's confidence in Amgen's robust pipeline, with particular emphasis on the therapeutic potential of MariTide and olpasiran.
Mizuho highlighted that the anticipated completion of Novartis and Ionis Pharmaceuticals' Phase 3 Lp(a) research in early 2026 could significantly benefit Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ: AMGN). The outcome of this research is expected to reshape market perceptions and valuations within the cardiovascular therapeutics space.
Following a slight increase in Amgen Inc.'s (NASDAQ: AMGN) medium-term sales projections, Mizuho foresees a shift in investor focus towards olpasiran. This heightened attention is expected once data from the Novartis and Ionis Phase 3 Lp(a) research becomes available, likely in the first half of 2026. The release of olpasiran's own clinical data is expected to follow later.
Despite the positive pipeline outlook, Mizuho acknowledged a potential risk stemming from a tax dispute with the IRS. The firm noted that a resolution is not expected before the latter half of 2026, and further details regarding this matter are being sought to assess its full impact on Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ: AMGN).
Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ: AMGN), established in 1980 and headquartered in California, stands as a prominent drug manufacturer. The company is dedicated to delivering human therapeutics through established pharmaceutical wholesale distribution channels, reinforcing its role as a key player in the biotechnology sector.
