Industry veteran Josh Goldstine is poised to take on a pivotal leadership position within Skydance, overseeing the marketing and distribution strategies for its expanded film portfolio, which now includes the formidable studios of Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures.

A New Era in Film Leadership: Goldstine's Expanded Vision

Goldstine's Broadened Scope at Skydance

Highly respected Hollywood marketing executive, Josh Goldstine, is slated to assume an expansive new leadership role at Skydance. This position will encompass the marketing and distribution efforts for major studios Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures, alongside all other film labels under the Skydance umbrella.

Key Leadership Reporting Structure

In his new capacity, Goldstine will be responsible for directing all theatrical film marketing and distribution initiatives. Reports indicate that he has already held meetings with key Warner Bros. marketing executives, including Dana Nussbaum, Christian Davin, and John Stanford, as well as Jeff Goldstein, the president of global theatrical distribution. All four executives will now report directly to Goldstine.

Studio Responses to the Appointment

Representatives from Warner Bros. Pictures and Paramount have chosen not to comment on Goldstine's appointment at this time.

Goldstine's Career Trajectory and Recent Moves

Goldstine's journey to this new role saw him joining Paramount in October 2025 as the president of worldwide marketing and distribution. This move came after David Ellison's acquisition of the company in August of the same year, with Goldstine reporting to co-chairs Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg. Prior to this, Goldstine held the position of president of worldwide marketing at Warner Bros., a role he exited in January 2025.

A Resurgent Career Path

This appointment represents a notable career resurgence for Goldstine, who was unexpectedly removed from his position at Warner Bros. in January 2025 by then-motion picture chiefs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy. His departure followed a challenging 2024 for Warner Bros., which saw a mix of box office underperformers like “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” and “Joker: Folie à Deux,” alongside significant successes such as “Dune: Part Two,” “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”

Ellison's Strategic Acquisitions and Leadership Team

The formalization of Goldstine's role follows David Ellison's successful completion of the Warner Bros. acquisition on Tuesday. The preceding day, Ellison unveiled his new leadership team for his expanded Hollywood enterprise. This included the announcement of Ynon Kreiz, formerly Mattel's chief, as co-CEO. Additionally, George Cheeks was confirmed as co-chair and chief content officer of Skydance TV, Casey Bloys as co-chair and chief content officer, and JB Perrette (previously Warner Bros. Discovery’s CEO and president of global streaming and games) as co-chair and chief business officer for both Skydance TV and Skydance DTC. Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg were named co-chairs of Skydance Motion Picture Group, overseeing both Warner Bros. and Paramount, while James Gunn and Peter Safran will continue as co-chairs of DC Studios.
