Famitsu has once again released its weekly update on Japan's physical game sales, showcasing a lively market with several new titles making their mark. Gamers and industry watchers alike are keen to see how established franchises perform against fresh challengers in this competitive landscape.
For dedicated Nintendo enthusiasts, a significant event this week is the re-appearance of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. This physical release, catering to those who prefer tangible game copies, impressively secured a spot in the top ten, achieving sales of 5,780 units. Its performance saw it surpass titles like Splatoon Raiders and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, albeit by a narrow margin.
This week's top spot was claimed by Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, which achieved remarkable sales of 63,013 copies on PlayStation 5. Additionally, Minecraft Dungeons II made its inaugural appearance, demonstrating a solid performance on the Switch 2 with 12,093 units sold, indicating a positive reception in the market.
The top ten software sales chart provides a clear picture of consumer preferences: Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve (PS5) led with 63,013 units; Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered debuted strongly on PS5 and Switch 2; Rhythm Heaven Groove (Switch) continued its impressive run; Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave (Switch 2) maintained a strong position; and several other titles like Derby Stallion 2 (Switch 2), Splatoon Raiders (Switch 2), and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (Switch) rounded out the top sellers.
