Clear River Games has officially marked the calendar for the debut of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction. Fans can look forward to diving into this new action game on February 4, 2027. The game will be widely accessible, with physical editions planned for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, alongside digital availability across those platforms, as well as PS4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
Dragon Pearl of Destruction is crafted as a retro-style beat 'em up, developed by the seasoned team at Bitmap Bureau. Known for their expertise in creating arcade-inspired titles based on classic series, Bitmap Bureau previously garnered positive feedback for games like Terminator 2D: No Fate. Players will have the opportunity to control He-Man, Teela, Man-at-Arms, and She-Ra, each possessing distinct combat styles and magical powers across 13 levels, a typical length for the genre.
The upcoming game is part of a larger resurgence for the He-Man universe. The recent Masters of the Universe live-action movie, despite mixed box office results, achieved significant streaming success on Prime Video. Furthermore, animated series such as Masters of the Universe on Netflix and the critically acclaimed She-Ra: Princesses of Power have kept the franchise vibrant and introduced it to new generations, cementing He-Man's place in pop culture.
