Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 Remastered Expanding to Battle.net, Geralt to Appear in Diablo 4

In an unexpected move, several popular titles are making their way to Blizzard's Battle.net platform. While many gamers might wish for classic Blizzard titles on Steam for easier access, the current trend sees external games integrating into Battle.net, with Cyberpunk 2077 and its upcoming expansion being among the latest additions.

Following a GamesCom announcement regarding The Witcher 3's remastered edition also launching on Battle.net, BlizzCon brought further details on this collaboration between Blizzard and CD Projekt. Fans can anticipate Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion's arrival later this year, joining other non-Blizzard games such as Sea of Thieves, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, and The Outer Worlds 2 on the platform. Currently, only Diablo 2 Resurrected, Diablo 4, and Overwatch represent Blizzard's catalog on Steam. The original Diablo remains accessible on GOG, although earlier Warcraft titles were removed from that store post-remastering.

This partnership extends beyond platform availability. The iconic character Geralt of Rivia will be introduced to Diablo 4 as a Barbarian class cosmetic, obtainable by those who pre-purchase The Witcher 3's Songs of the Past DLC on Battle.net. Future plans include more Witcher-inspired content scheduled for 2027. Additionally, 2025 will see the release of Edgerunners-themed cosmetics for Overwatch, coinciding with the second season premiere of the animated series on Netflix in October.
