Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sarah Polley has completed production on her highly anticipated adaptation of "The Bell Jar," a cinematic endeavor that sees music sensation Billie Eilish making her acting debut. Eilish embodies the complex character of Esther Greenwood, a role central to Sylvia Plath's semi-autobiographical narrative. The film delves into Esther's journey, chronicling her experiences as an aspiring writer navigating the demanding landscape of 1950s New York City, confronting profound challenges related to ambition, personal identity, and mental well-being against a backdrop of rigid societal expectations for women.

Focus Features has officially confirmed the full ensemble cast for the production, which was directed by Polley, known for her work on "Women Talking," from her own adapted screenplay.
